Patch 6.1: Patch Notes Now Available

by Crow on

It’s taken a bit of time since the Patch 6.1 PTR became available, but the Community Team has now graced us with patch notes to tell us details about all the nitty-gritty coming to us in the not-too-distant future. There’s a LOT of information to cover in these notes that we’ll be getting to over the coming days, but let me draw your attention to a few highlights: The first iteration of the revamped Blood Elf models are now available. The blues were quick to remind folks that these are NOT the final product; more iteration on these models is due to come as the 6.1 PTR progresses, so if you don’t like what you see, don’t panic. A new “death panel” UI is being added to help demonstrate exactly how you died. The heirloom collections tab is being added, which will normalize heirloom upgrade paths. Additionally, new heirloom neck-slot

Another round of hotfixes today, but nowhere near the extent of those that hit yesterday. It seems today is more about some bug fixes while also making rogues not quite as strong in PVP combat with their stuns. Rogue General Kidney Shot’s stun effect is now capped at 6 seconds while in PvP combat. Revealing Strike can still increase the stun duration, but not beyond 6 seconds. Another round of hotfixes went into Warlords today. Another round of hotfixes for Warlords of Draenor. The biggest news in the last 2 days is that the Satchel of Savage Mysteries now has a guaranteed chance to award a piece of heroic dungeon loot (iLevel 630 rare) for the character’s specialization. This is in response to the really bad queue times people are seeing for heroic dungeons currently to entice basically more tanks to queue. The Butcher in Highmaul now has a chance to drop a Green Winter Hat. And most important of all… the Darkmoon Faire will now show up on the calendar for 2015! 😉 You can read the latest hotfix patch notes here: December 16 Garrisons, Followers, and Outposts Garrison Buildings A hotfix in testing from December 11 for the Inn has been implemented. Another round of hotfixes to hit Warlords today and this one, while fixing bugs, also addresses some class balancing for Hunters, Monks, and Rogues. Patch 6.0.3 continues to have hotfixes and with today’s maintenance brought even more. The biggest issues in my opinion that have been addresses is the fixing of progress toward Garrison invasions being reset has been fixed and level up items created by professions no longer use reagents that required a daily cooldown. I know a lot of my friends were getting frustrated with not getting their invasions to start so that fix is definitely appreciated. Professions should also be even easier to level up to 600 now.
