In this first chunk of the massive content reveal for 7.2, we look at flying and class mounts, our return to the Broken Shore and all the world content that entails, and updates to the greater Broken Isles World Quests. Take Wing with Flying, Class Mounts In 7.2, players can look forward to the final part of the Broken Isles Pathfinder achievement meta. It will require all of the previous part’s achievements, plus exploring and finishing the majority of 7.2 content. Like the Draenor equivalent, it will unlock Broken Isles flying across all characters on an account. 7.2 will also feature a unique mount for each class. These seem to be unlocked by finishing your class’s order hall campaign, all of which can fly: Return to the Broken Shore In 7.2, players will return to the site of the Alliance and Horde’s great loss in the face of the Legion, the ...

In addition to many other changes, 7.1.5 will be Blizzard’s first “class update” patch for the expansion. While previous hotfixes and patch releases for 7.0 have included tuning and tweaks, 7.1.5 will focus on: Improving talent choice diversity Talents that all players use may be turned into baseline abilities and replaced Talents which are hardly chosen will be tuned, updated, or replaced Improving “the feel” of class rotations Secondary stats–will adjust the balance between competing ilevel with the overvalued secondary stats so new gear feels like more of an improvement and reward Returning utility to some classes and specs Now that the major pruning of the expansion is over, the team can look back and spot what could be re-implemented, as well as completely new utility abilities Traps will return to all Hunter specs, although Beast Mastery will remain the king of traps Shroud of Concealment added value to Rogues ...

As previously announced, World of Warcraft: Legion 7.1.5 will feature a visually updated version of Blade’s Edge Arena. The new version of the arena will retain the same collision mapping, and is meant to bring the PvP instance into 2016’s modern style. The updated arena will also feature an overlooking Ogre, who will “shoutcast” developments during the instance. If it proves an enjoyable addition, they may add similar features to arenas going forward....

Microholidays Holidays are nothing new to players of World of Warcraft. But beginning in 7.1.5, new “microholidays” will begin populating our calendars. Microholidays are much shorter, and typically won’t involve achievements, mounts, or other usual rewards. That’s not to say that they won’t be worth doing, though. Ahn’Qiraj Rememberance Day Commemorates the original opening of the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj on January 22, 2006 Takes place in Tanaris Objectives will send players collecting supplies similar to the original event Whoever turns in the most supplies to their faction’s NPC will win a faction-specific flag flying over the area for the rest of the year Volunteer Guard Day /salute a guard in Stormwind or Orgrimmar to don their outfit and switch places with them for a time Players will patrol their respective major city and defend it as if they were guards Hatching of the Hippogryphs Players will gather to watch baby hatchlings ...

Brawler’s Guild originally went on a sabbatical in 7.0 to “find itself.” In the meantime, Blizzard has focused on adding to and improving the variety of content that the Guild offers: New bosses will be added, and the old ones are here to stay Encounters are wacky, challenging, and fun, and don’t establish or challenge lore or canon Rumbles are a new battle type that randomly spawns a raid-level boss It will draw all currently queued players into the arena to fight it Rewards will be shared on victory with participants Brawler’s Gold will be a new currency Encourages players to spend “socially” at the benefit of other brawlers Example: Spend gold to spawn a temporary graveyard next to the arena all can use Example: Spawn an NPC that let’s players predict who will win the next round Rewards will include the usual shirts, as well as a new Basilisk mount!...

by pallimmanis on

On Tuesday October 25th the first major patch of Legion will be released, entitled “Return to Karazhan. One of the major items of interest for this patch is a new 5-player Mythic Dungeon version of the Karazhan raid instance (don’t worry mount farmers, the original version will still remain available). The raid is expected to unlock two weeks after the release of the patch (so November 8th) with the Normal and Heroic difficulties unlocking the first week followed by the Mythic and Raid Finder difficulties the next week. Additional quests in Suramar will also become available over the course of nine weeks and will lead into the upcoming Nighthold raid. These quests will also allow players to obtain the Arcanist’s Manasaber ...

The Great Collegiate Dungeon Race

by pallimmanis on

Blizzard and Tespa have announced a new electronic competition for World of Warcraft players currently in college: The Great Collegiate Dungeon Race. Beginning November 7th players will compete in a grueling six-week challenge to earn a share of $20,000 in scholarship money. The caveat this time around is that players won’t be directly competing against other players. They’ll be racing the clock against some of the most difficult dungeon content Blizzard has to offer through the use of the new Mythic-plus keystone system for Legion dungeons. To put all players on an even footing, participants in the race will compete on specific event realms where they will choose their preferred classes from premade templates with fixed item sets and artifact levels. As the event progresses the dungeon difficulty will increase until only one team remains standing and is named the champion. For more information about the event including how to participate ...
