Shaman

Today, we take a look at the Restoration Shaman artifact intro. The Restoration artifact, the Caduceus of Azshara, was forged around living water taken from the Well of Eternity and used by Queen Azshara to control her subjects. After her defeat during the War of the Ancients, the artifact fell into the hands of other night elves, and was eventually forgotten. Until now.

Today, we take a look at the Elemental shaman artifact questline. The Elemental artifact, the Fist of Ra-Den, should bring back memories of an expansion not to long ago. In Mists of Pandaria, heroes fought through the stronghold of Lei-Shen, the Thunder King, to find and defeat this imprisoned Titan on Heroic mode. The Fist came into the White Tiger’s possession at some point, and shamans must pass his trials to obtain it. Lei-Shen had long ago begun using Ra-Den’s blood and power for his own purposes, but according to Xuen, the “tools of the storm god” were a power even Lei-Shen feared to harness. At the Temple of the White Tiger, shamans will be tested in three trials–with a couple throwbacks to the trials during the Pandaria dailies along the way. But you can relax–you won’t have to carry any torches up the steps of the temple this time. You

Today, we take a look at the Enhancement Shaman Artifact questline. The Enhancement Artifact, Doomhammer, has a rich history of Shaman and Warrior masters, typically of the Orc variety. Most recently, it was borne by Thrall, although (spoilers) he loses that privilege during the course of the questline. Shortly after landing near the Maelstrom, Geth’xun and a small incursion of demons crash down on the gathering. At the end of the confrontation, Geth’xun disarms Thrall, who finds himself unable to wield Doomhammer as he once did. As Thrall ponders the fallout of his decision to kill Garrosh on Draenor, you must follow after Geth’xun into the Maelstrom and through the depths of Deepholm. After a couple encounters with familiar Deepholm baddies, you will find Doomhammer defending itself from the Dreadlord with a rock shield. Using your Shamanic powers, you can shatter the shield, take Doomhammer for yourself, and defeat the Dreadlord before

by Magistrate on

Today, we have a quick tour of the Shaman Class Hall, the Heart of Azeroth. Located on the precipice of the Maelstrom, the Heart of Azeroth is a vital nexus of elemental energy. To open the Class Hall, players must fend off a Burning Legion invasion and chase after a stolen Doomhammer. We’ll look at unlocking the Shaman Class Hall, as well as obtaining its Artifacts, in a future post. Shaman Class Hall Preview Screenshots For more on Class Halls, see our previous coverage.

This week a couple Warlords hotfixes went live, including the purchasable Crystallized Fel change we noted on Tuesday, fixes to Shamans’ Healing Stream Totem and Healing Tide Totem, and other NPC and quest-related fixes. You can view the complete list of changes below or on the official blog post.

Legion Class Preview: Shaman

by Magistrate on

The Shaman Legion class preview blog post went up today detailing streamlined totems, resource system changes, and other big updates. Below, we've summarized the changes to each of the class's specs, including ability, talent, and rotation changes.

Rygarius has just updated the 6.2 Patch Notes for content currently in testing on the PTR. As always, BOLD indicates a an update or addition, ITALIC indicates a removal. strikethroughs are left over from Blizzard’s format and are the same as italicized text. Remember, these modifications are subject to change up to the time they are deployed to the live realms. General Changes Salvage Yard Gray items obtained from salvage recovered from Follower missions may now sometimes drop a stackable gray item instead of a range of various gray items taking up lots of inventory space. The average gold value should remain roughly the same. Raids and Dungeons Highmaul and Blackrock Foundry Changes A raid-wide debuff has been added to reduce damage dealt by all creatures and NPCs in Highmaul and Blackrock Foundry on Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulty. The achievements, Ahead of the Curve: Imperator’s Fall, Cutting Edge: Imperator’s Fall, Ahead of

Patch 6.2 – April 17th Update

by pallimmanis on

Rygarius updated the patch notes for 6.2 today with additional information about Timewalking, Profession Crafted items (get ready for more upgrades!) and a few additions to Ashran. Bold text are additions or changes, italic text is items that were removed. As always, remember anything currently on the PTR is subject to change and we’re a long way off from the patch release so don’t get too crazy about nerfs/buffs/too much content/not enough content. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go see a certain celestial dragon and his team about the Holy Shock mana increase.

There is something about melee classes that I simply love. I have always played thieves, warriors, paladins and every other close combat class you can imagine in various role playing games. Being far away from most of the danger and harm does not feel like engaging combat to me, so when I began playing Warcraft I always rolled melee classes. If you have ever wanted to roll a melee class for raiding purposes I will be talking about some of the important aspects you have to take into account. (Big hammer to the face) One of the hardest things about being a melee DPS in World of Warcraft is not having a good view of what is going on in the fight. Ranged DPS and healers have greater perspective of the environment and it is easier for them to anticipate most abilities. Melee have to move around a lot and are at the mercy

The 6.0 changes are finally upon us and I will be taking this opportunity to talk about the game play changes to the different roles in the game specifically for PvE. We will now look at the changes to melee DPS. I generally favor melee classes and it is what I played most on Beta; on the live servers, my main character is a rogue. One of the things that stand out with melee changes is being much slower in terms of rotations and priority. I feel that there is a big misconception around how to play a melee character in that spamming your abilities is the way to go. Now normally, there comes a time with most expansions in which the level of gear we are in makes it possible to spam most of our abilities and have good results; right now and at the beginning of the expansion, however,
