Rygarius confirmed earlier this evening that Patch 6.1 will be released on Tuesday, February 24th. In anticipation for the patch release, they assembled a blog post that compiled all of the recent blogs they’ve done that pertain to the 6.1 content, as well as a link to the recent Mamytwink interview with Lead Game Designer Ion “Watcher” Hazzikostas. You can check out the Patch 6.1 Survival Guide video below, as well as our coverage of the coming 6.1 content, or just hit up the official blog. Rygarius updated the World of Warcraft blog with the latest 6.1 Public Testing Realm (PTR) patch notes today. This build is also flagged as a release candidate, meaning that this is likely a final build and we can expect 6.1 to go live on any given Tuesday. However, there are suspicions that the patch might be held back in order to prevent it from interfering with the race for Mythic World First in Blackrock Foundry. Either way, keep an eye open next Tuesday. Highlights for this update: The “veteran edition” mode that was uncovered when the PTR first came up now seems to be operational. You can now cook using the fireplace in your Town Hall in Tier 2/3 Alliance garrisons. BIG changes involving cosmetic transformations from toys. A pretty big list of class ability adjustments that hit almost every class. We’ve provided a summary of changes below, or you can always

Patch 6.1 will introduce a new type of daily quest. In a change from the daily quests of Mists of Pandaria where players felt compelled to do every daily every time for maximum reputation gains, in Warlords of Draenor Blizzard has changed things up. This post from Bashiok talks a bit about the new dailies and the potential rewards from completing them. 6.1 introduces new daily quests that set you on a number of different types of tasks. You’re provided a random task type each day, and within that type a quest is chosen out of a bucket of possible quests. One of the task types is to complete a specific dungeon, and you’ll receive a bag with gear up to (I believe) 655 ilvl. Say you get the dungeon daily, and so do I, we’ll both have the same quest for that day to go (for example) go do Everbloom.

Argi Raises Over $1.9 Million Dollars

by pallimmanis on

In early December Blizzard announced the release of a new battle pet available through the shop, Argi the Space Goat. Like previous special pets, Argi would be used to raise money for a specific charitable cause. The charity selected for this pet was the American Red Cross to support their efforts in Ebola relief. Earlier today Blizzard posted a blog announcing that through purchases of both individual Argi pets and the Grinning Reaver mount bundle which included Argi, they were able to donate more than $1.9 million dollars to Ebola relief efforts. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of World of Warcraft players around the world who purchased the Argi pet, we’ve raised a total of more than 1.9 million USD to support the ongoing Ebola relief efforts in Africa by the Red Cross. In December, we announced that for every Argi purchased by December 31, 2014, 100% of the adoption fee would be going to assist in aiding

February 10th Hotfixes

by pallimmanis on

It’s Tuesday evening, which means we’ve got a new round of hotfixes which were implemented after today’s maintenance. No hotfixes for Mythic Blackrock Foundry bosses so it shouldn’t interfere with the world first races. One update to yesterday’s hotfixes (available here): The change to Blackhand’s Marked for Death has been reverted and he will continue to cast it every 15 seconds instead of every 16. Aside from that there have been adjustments to Beastlord Darmac, the Iron Maidens, and a few extra changes to Blackhand. A few minor item adjustments to Darmac’s Unstable Talisman, Furyheart Talisman, and the Goren Soul Repository were added as well. For the full list of hotfixes see the post below or the full list of hotfixes for patch 6.0.3 here. February 10 Classes Warrior Armor Sets Tier-17 4-piece set bonus should now be correctly generating 6% increase to both critical strike and attack speed (was incorrectly

February 9th Hotfixes

by pallimmanis on

It’s Monday night and we’ve got what should be the final round of hotfixes before the launch of Mythic Blackrock Foundry. One significant change is the addition of a berserk timer for the Blast Furnace encounter at 13 minutes, so you’ll want to be mindful of that change if you’ve been taking longer than that up to now. A fix has also been implemented to the Crown Chemical Company Wagon in Darkshore so if you’ve had trouble completing that quest give it another shot. On the battleground front, the Druid abilities Starfall and Sunfall will no longer target players capturing points in multiple battlegrounds so you’ll want to keep that in mind the next time you zone into one of those instances. Also, Alliance characters are no longer being directed to turn in a quest in Orgrimmar after completing the Primal Combatant achievement, so that should clear up any confusion that

February 6th Hotfixes

by pallimmanis on

Looks like we’ve got another round of hotfixes today, mostly for Blackhand in Blackrock Foundry. One hotfix doesn’t take effect until a realm restart, so unless there are major problems over the weekend, we probably won’t see that one until after Tuesday morning. Along with the fixes for Blackhand, there’s one for the Sentry Cannons at the beginning of Upper Blackrock Spire (engineers rejoice!) and a fix for an issue which prevented members of the Horde from capturing the flag at the Mage Tower in Eye of the Storm. February 6 Raids, Dungeons, and Scenarios Blackrock Foundry Blackhand [Requires a realm restart.] Siegemaker’s Black Iron Plating is now removed by Slag Bomb. Slag Bomb’s damage dealt to Siegemakers now scales up based on the number of players in the Raid. To adjust for this change, damage dealt to Siegemakers has been reduced for Impaling Throw by 20% and Slag Bomb

Heirloom System Changes

by pallimmanis on

In Patch 6.1, Blizzard is introducing a long-anticipated change to the Heirloom system. Along with a new pane in the User Interface which provides access to your Heirloom items we’ll also see the addition of a new mount, the Chauffeured Chopper. The Chauffeured Chopper is earned once you have collected 35 Heirloom items and is available to characters of any level on your Battle.net account. Since characters can’t learn to ride until level 20 this mount comes with a chauffeur to do the driving, allowing your new character to sit back and ride in style. For more information on the upcoming changes see the blog post below, or you can see the original post from Kaivax here. With World of Warcraft patch 6.1, we’re implementing a new system for managing and using your heirloom items. When we implement patch 6.1, all heirloom items will be automatically added into the new system and

Hotfixes for February 5th

by pallimmanis on

Hotfixes for today are mostly for Blackrock Foundry, along with one minor change to how faction flags work in battlegrounds. The list is fairly short so let’s get right to it. February 5 Raids, Dungeons, and Scenarios Blackrock Foundry Resolved an issue where Slagshop Brutes may sometimes not reset correctly if the raid wipes while they’re casting Death Howl. Hans’gar & Franzok Hans’gar and Franzok’s Crippling Suplex now deals 30% less damage (200,000 damage on Raid Finder, 450,000 damage on Normal, 600,000 damage on Heroic, and 700,000 damage on Mythic). Blackhand Blackhand’s Impaling Throw damage dealt to Siegemakers should now properly scale up based on the number of players in the Raid. Visuals for Marked for Death and Slag Eruptions should now be easier to see. Players should now only receive a single debuff that refreshes when running through Blazes created by Siegemaker Mortar attacks. Resolved an issue that could
