Brightpaw Raises $1.7 Million

In a truly massive outpouring of generosity Blizzard and the World of Warcraft community have become known for, Blizzard announced today that the most recent Make-A-Wish® Charity Pet, Brightpaw, raised $1.7 Million to aid the charity in their efforts around the world.
Thanks to the incredible out-purr-ing of generosity from World of Warcraft players around the globe who purchased Brightpaw the Mana Kitty, we’ve raised more than $1.7 million to benefit Make-A-Wish®, helping them grant the wishes of children throughout the world with life-threatening medical conditions.
Last year, we announced that during the month of December, 100% of Brightpaw’s purchase price would be donated to Make-A-Wish—and the WoW community rose to the occasion to lend their support. Thanks again for helping to make a difference in the lives of children.

With the addition of Brightpaw, this brings the total donations made from player pet purchases to over $10.7 million dollars. This doesn’t include donations from items like the old server blades auctioned off via eBay several years ago ($330,000) and through purchases of the BlizzCon Charity Dinner tickets.
