Exploring Azeroth : Leorajh

by - 8 years ago

Exploring Azeroth wanders delves absentmindedly purposefully into the hidden places of the world. From the sunlit glades of Elwynn to the peaks of Highmountain, these articles are your guide to events that are off the beaten path.

Location: Spires of Arak

Reward: Leorajh

Welcome to the first Exploring Azeroth of the new year – and the last, until the Legion alpha/beta comes back up. We’ve reached a point where, although there is more to write about, most of the really interesting stuff has been covered! Therefore, this column is going on hiatus for a few weeks.

Anyway – Leorajh! The sabreons, introduced in Warlords (and commonly thought to be the precursor to the flayers of Burning Crusade), are a fan favourite, and Leorajh is the only follower of the race that players can pick up. Not only that, he also has the Bodyguard trait, and can accompany you on your travels through Draenor. He will cast Lightning Bolt and Chain Heal, and once reputation with him is levelled sufficiently, also gains access to Primal Bloodlust.

Reaching Leorajh used to be a lot more difficult, but flying has changed that. Now, you can simply fly to his out-of-the-way cave in the Bloodmane Valley, at (54, 63). However, if you want to get him as a follower before being able to take to the skies, read on.

Leorajh's Den

You can find Leorajh’s Den, the sabreon’s original home, at the foot of the south face of one of the the mountains on the edge of Bloodmane Valley: (55, 68). It appears that the uncorrupted arrakoa have captured the cat and taken him higher up the mountain. To reach him, follow the fold in the rock to the left of the entrance to the top and round to the left. Here, you will come across another cave called the Apexis Chamber.

Way to Leorajh

Sun Charged Guardians populate this area, thanks to the rare spawn you will find at the end of the path: Sol-Shaper Valarik. His title, <Binder of Constructs>, hints rather strongly that he is responsible for the robots. He has also captured Leorajh, and is holding him captive for…something. The arrakoa will spam Solar Wrath and also use Solar Zone. If left alive for long enough, he will also use Incandescent Power, in which case simply kill the golem.

Apexis Chamber

When Valarik is dead, you will be able to talk to Leorajh and complete his quest, accepting him as a follower.
