Legion Alpha Test Opens

by - 8 years ago

Late last week Twitter was lit aflame with speculation that the World of Warcraft: Legion beta test would be starting soon as various employees of Blizzard referenced pushing buttons and blowing up servers. Some of this was written off as the employees building hype for the Overwatch Weekend Beta Stress Test which started Friday morning, but some members of the community held out hope.

Late Friday their hope was realized as dataminers began finding new files and data from the upcoming expansion. Many spent the weekend poring over early spell data-strings, images of Class Order Halls and zones, and hypothesizing about what could be coming in the future expansion.

Finally, Monday afternoon Twitter began erupting with players tweeting that they had a new account added to their Battle.net login: an additional PTR account marked as Alpha: Legion and the download began of 34 GB of data.
