Exploring Draenor: Terky

by - 8 years ago

Exploring Draenor delves into the hidden places of the world that will one day become Outland. From the volcanic landscape of Frostfire to the gloomy dells of Shadowmoon, these articles are your guide to events that are off the beaten path.

Location: Borean Tundra

Rewards: White Murloc Egg

TerkyAstute readers will notice that today’s Exploring Draenor is not, in fact, in Draenor. However, the availability of a baby murloc to everyone, instead of only a limited subset of people (Blizzcon attendees, owners of The Burning Crusade collectors’ edition, a fan website gift, etc), is worth leaving current-expansion content.

To reach the White Murloc Egg, which you can use to learn how to summon Terky, you’ll need to make your way back to Azeroth, and north – far, far north. To Northrend, in fact!

Murlocs are an endangered species up at the roof of the world – most of them are Gorlocs, an evolved sub-species. However, you can find a small tribe in the Borean Tundra, at the northern tip of the channel between Coldarra and the mainland. One (or two – it is a fertilised egg, after all) appears to have got lost, though, as Terky’s egg is located far south – in an underwater cave just off the Naga-inhabited Riplash Ruins.

To reach the cave, dive into the water to the northeast of Riplash, near the tower. Descend until you reach a ledge of rock, until you see a small crack – it will be partially hidden by seaweed. Swim inside and up and you will reach a cave, where you can exit the water. At the back of the cave there is a large pearl on an altar – this is not the egg! Check the pile of debris behind the altar; amongst the bones and seaweed (what lived here?), you will find your prize.

For a long time, Terky was in the game files but could not be looted by anyone who had not taken part in a limited-time promotion in Asia. However, the White Murloc Egg was added to the game in patch 6.2.2.
