Exploring Draenor: Rasthe

by - 9 years ago

Exploring Draenor delves into the hidden places of the world that will one day become Outland. From the volcanic landscape of Frostfire to the gloomy dells of Shadowmoon, these articles are your guide to events that are off the beaten path.

Location: Ruins of Kra’nak

Reward: Fang of Rasthe

The arrakoa worship several airborne deities, one of whom is Sethe: a lizard-type creature, very different from the dread raven, Anzu. In our timeline, Sethe’s power was used to control Anzu, but this was halted in Warlords of Draenor. However, there is a surprise waiting for us in Tanaan Jungle: Sethe had a child.

Rasthe is the son of Sethe (who or what the mother is is not mentioned), although he’s a bit on the thin side – if you read’skeletal’ as ‘thin’. Rasthe’s skeleton is located on an island in the small lake in the southern portion of the Ruins of Kra’nak, where the arrakoa are imbuing it with fel magic in an attempt to resurrect the creature. Of course, this being World of Warcraft, they succeed – and it’s up to adventurers like yourself to stop them.

While most rare spawns have a very simple set of abilities (which cause little-to-no problem for a raid-geared player), Rasthe’s are more interesting. To start with, he will summon a Felflame Gale, which putts a long-lasting DoT on players. This is relatively simple to avoid, but make sure that your back isn’t to it when Rasthe follows up with his second ability: Fel Downdraft. As well as ticking fire damage, this can easily blow players off the island if they don’t take any action to counter it.

Finally, Soul Fragments will constantly spawn while fighting Rasthe; be careful not to let them get out of control, as damage they deal will heal the skeleton using Rip Soul.
