Mystic Runesaber Mount Arrives May 13th

by - 9 years ago

A new has panel been added to the Battle.net launcher announcing the impending arrival of the Mystic Runesaber on the World of Warcraft In-Game Store. The mount will be available May 13th! Pricing information is not yet available for the item.

This mount was teased on Facebook on January 28th and members of the community have been anxious for its arrival, apparently asking “regularly” when it would be available for purchase. Community Manager Bashiok responded to a question about the mount and explained why it has taken so long to be released given that there have been several months between when it was originally teased and datamined from the PTR and now.

Originally it was planned to release much earlier but we decided to wait as it’d potentially add some complexities while we’re still trying to launch the WoW Token in all regions (Korea and Taiwan had the WoW Token launch yesterday, for example). So the next available release timeframe was next week, and that’s what we with.

Just in case you need a reminder of what the mount looks like (and you may want to prepare to throw your wallet at the screen now) here it is:

runesaber2Keep in mind that just because the launcher says May 13th, that does not mean it will be available at 12:01am on that date. Typically these items become available around 10am Pacific (Blizzard HQ’s timezone) but can often be released earlier or later in the day depending on what else is going on.

Also, this mount sounds like it will be a popular item so (as with any new mount or pet) you’ll probably want to anticipate some slowness when purchasing the item.

You’ll also want to keep in mind that (if you’re planning on purchasing multiple mounts for friends or family) the new mount may not be immediately available for gift purchases. Blizzard frequently holds back on allowing gift purchases on new items for a time because those of little integrity often like to take advantage of items like these to scam others out of in-game gold. That may or may not be the case with this mount, but always double check the source of any item in-game before spending your hard earned gold on it.

One final note: This mount (last time it was checked on the PTR) is still only flagged as a ground mount. Remember that before you go jumping off the top of the Stormwind Mage Tower or somewhere on the Orgrimmar cliffs with it.
