WoW Token Available April 7th

by - 9 years ago

Blizzard has just announced that the WoW Token will be available starting after the completion of maintenance on Tuesday, April 7th. If you haven’t been following the epic saga, the WoW Token will be a safe, Blizzard approved way to exchange in-game gold for game time.

In an update of the WoW Token post today, Blizzard revealed that the initial price point will be $20 US/$25 AUD from the store, or 30,000 gold from the in-game Auction House. Once tokens start being placed on the Auction House the in-game gold price will be allowed to fluctuate naturally across the entire region.

One thing to note (so don’t cancel your recurring subscription quite yet) is that there may be a small delay between when a token is placed for sale on the Auction House and when it can be purchased. This is likely to give additional time for payment verification of the purchase on the cash shop side to be completed.

For those of you who will be purchasing the token from the shop to place on the Auction House, bear in mind you will (initially) only be able to purchase and list a maximum of 10 tokens within a 30-day period. This may change at a later date though.

At this time the token will only be available in the NA region, with other regional announcements coming in the future.

From that point forward, the gold price will automatically fluctuate based on player supply and demand. To start we’ll be limiting the number of Token purchases to 10 within a 30-day period, but this limit may be adjusted over time. While Tokens will be available immediately from the Shop, please note that there may be a delay before Tokens put up for sale on the Auction House become available for purchase with gold.

We’ll announce additional regional details closer to the launch of the WoW Token in other regions.

They’ve also provided a helpful video with information on how the token works and guidance on how to obtain it from the in-game cash shop or the Auction House.
