Garrison Menagerie Pet Battle Guide: Carroteye, Mr. Terrible, and Sloppus

by - 9 years ago

Carroteye, Mr. Terrible, and Sloppus are not your standard bunch of root vegetables. Well, nobody really knows what Sloppus is, but for the sake of argument, let’s assume it used to be some kind of root vegetable. I have a sneaking suspicion that it might actually be the leftovers from Brutus’ and RukusPig Out yesterday.

Seriously, what *is* that?

There are many ways to beat this team, both with one, two, and three pets, but as the experience gained from battling the Menagerie pets has been nerfed considerably, I’ll not go through how to level a “carry” pet against these teams.

If you want to beat this group of pets—and I’m assuming you do—you will want a team with mostly aquatic abilities as Carroteye and Mr. Terrible both are elemental pets, and thus extra vulnerable to said abilities. Any kind of strider works like a charm, I used an Aqua Strider and an Eternal Strider for example.

Use Pump >> Cleansing Rain >> Water Jet >> Pump to kill Carroteye and then repeat the same rotation (without Cleansing Rain) against Mr. Terrible until he’s dead. Aquatic abilities are weak against magic pets, but you can take away a fair chunk of Sloppus’ health before it kills your strider, if you’re lucky.

Sloppus is, as mentioned above, a magical pet with a nasty two-turn ability called Chew; once you see Sloppus starting to chew on grass, you need to take precautions. My pet of choice is the Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling that has the ideal ability combination Breath and Decoy. You won’t be able to use Decoy to avoid every Chew attack, but it will be more than enough to use it once. Another pet that works really well is the Emerald Proto-Whelp that has Breath in addition to Proto-Strike, which not only offers a great way of avoiding getting hit by Chew, but will deal magical damage on turn two. Anubisath Idol is another great pet to use against Sloppus because of the ability Deflection.
