Watcher Reveals More Details on WoW Tokens

by - 9 years ago

In an article over on VentureBeat, Ion “Watcher” Hazzikostas gave out a few more critical details about the game-time-tokens-for-gold system that Blizzard announced earlier today.

Some of the biggest details:

  • The feature should be on PTR very soon, and it’s slated to be a part of a minor upcoming patch (a.k.a “6.1.2”) instead of the next major update.
  • Code already exists that will allow inactive accounts that have enough banked gold to buy a token to do so from the character select screen, bypassing the Auction House. (!)
  • Blizzard will likely set the initial gold cost and then allow the player market to take it from there.
  • Don’t expect the token to cost less than the monthly subscription cost.
  • High-powered BoE items from the latest raids might see changes as a result of this system being implemented.

We’ll have more analysis about the whole of this system up soon, but for now, take in Hazzikostas’ comments over at VentureBeat.
