The Weekly Grind: Bloodsail Buccaneers

by - 10 years ago

In this weekly column, we’ll highlight specific dailies, quests, or reputation grinds that can be found all over Azeroth. It’s a big world, and there is a lot of questing to be done!

This Friday is National Talk Like a Pirate Day, matey, so obviously we will focus this week on the Bloodsail Buccaneers.

Story-wise, the Bloodsail Buccaneers are one of many criminal organizations in Azeroth. From their stronghold on Plunder Isle, they unleash their raids on Booty Bay, a Steamwheedle Cartel port city rich with treasure.

If players wish to earn reputation with the Bloodsail Buccaneers, the only way to do so is to attack Booty Bay guards and Blackwater Raiders protecting the city. This will adversely affect player reputation with the Steamwheedle Cartel, but also with the other goblin towns: for every 25 point drop in Booty Bay, players lose 12.5 point with any of the other neutral goblin towns. While this may not seem like such a huge deal, losing major travel hubs like Ratchet and Booty Bay may impact your ability to get around with ease.

The best way to earn Bloodsail Buccaneer rep is by attacking Booty Bay Bruisers for 25 reputation points each. The Bruisers spawn quickly and have a knock-back ability which can make grinding out the rep somewhat tedious even for higher level players. A good place to farm rep is by approaching Booty Bay from the north, follow the tunnel into town, then head toward the blacksmith on your left and begin to unleash pain.

That said, the gain for your pain is a stylish Bloodsail Admiral’s Hat, and a complete pirate outfit. Pursuing Bloodsail Buccaneer rep is also a key component for Insane in the Membrane, so hop to it ye landlubbers!
