“Test of Valor” Legendary Quest Removed in 6.0, Item Upgrades to Cost Lesser Charms Instead of Valor, Justice Points

by - 10 years ago

Community Manager Lore posted that the A Test of Valor quest will be removed in 6.0, and that item upgrades will cost Lesser Charms of Good Fortune instead of Valor or Justice Points.

As a couple posters have mentioned, we’re planning to remove the Test of Valor step from the Legendary chain.

Regarding item upgrades, those are being converted to use Lesser Charms of Good Fortune as currency instead of Justice or Valor.

A Test of Valor–just one quest in a string of many for the legendary quest chain that rewards a legendary cloak, meta gem, and more–currently requires players to collect 3000 Valor Points to complete. While not nearly as much as 6000 points–which it required before patch 5.3–the quest still takes at least two weeks worth of resets due to the Valor cap.

With Warlords of Draenor just around the corner, this will be a good chance to snag a legendary cloak that should be good through early expansion content.

Although item upgrades will no longer be possible in Warlords, 6.0 will release before the expansion hits. During that in-between period, players will be able to continue upgrading Mists of Pandaria gear with Lesser Charms of Good Fortune “instead of Justice or Valor,” Lore says.

Players who have been running Timeless Isle or Isle of Thunder content should have a more-than-healthy amount of the charms at hand. Assuming every gear slot isn’t already 4/4, this leaves an option to burn through some of them before they become irrelevant with the new expansion.
