Warlords of Draenor Beta: The Issue of “Same Face”

by - 10 years ago

Ever since the new character models started to appear on the beta realms, voices have been heard throughout the community about something that is generally referred to as ‘same face’. What it means is basically that people think the different character faces looks too similar to each other. Despite the fact that Blizzard has assured us that the models are still, in fact, a work in progress, this issue has been raised over and over again. My own concern initially was not that they were too similar, but that the likeness to the old faces wasn’t there.

However, Chris Robison, Senior Art Director at Blizzard, released an ArtCraft blog post not too long ago detailing just exactly how they were going to do justice to the facial options.

With the latest beta build going live, we are now starting to see just how this is done. Have a look at the pictures below, and see what you think. Remember that everything is still a work in progress and might be subject to change.

The true winners so far are the dwarves; they look absolutely stunning.

It is expected to be similar to previous one… you cannot wake up one day and have a new face.

Actually if you pay – you can, but that’s not the point.
