The “Big” Stuff

Darkmoon Faire to Have New Race/Obstacle Course Mini-game

@perculia and the Wowhead team in particular did a lot of amazing work datamining the new Darkmoon Faire mini-game, which appears to be some sort of hybrid on-foot race and obstacle course. It comes complete with power-ups, obstacles and hazards, and finally makes use of a lot of empty space on Darkmoon Island.

To read more about it, take a look at the tweets under the Darkmoon Faire section and refer to the pictures section for screenshots.

Level Cap and Locked Characters

Hi everybody,

We recently discovered an issue where the intended level cap of 92 wasn’t being enforced on Lost Isles and Gilneas. We just restarted the realms to enforce this cap, however this does mean that those of you who had already leveled characters beyond level 92 will see a “Character Locked.” message when attempting to log back onto those characters.

Over time the level cap will be raised as we open more content for you folks to test, but for now you’ll have to create new level 90 characters using the in-game Template Character option.

Thanks for being patient during the Alpha Test Process!

Regarding the Date of the Next Wave of Alpha Invites

We’re generally not going to provide estimates or dates for when more invites will go out as it is purely based on testing requirements, which can change from day to day. Invites will continue to roll out as needed, in very small amounts to start, and increasing as we near launch. It’s worth keeping in mind that test invites overall will be limited, especially in comparison to Mists of Pandaria, where the vast majority of invites were based on the Annual Pass benefits.

Bashiok also took some time today to answer a bunch of fan questions on the forum. Most of them involve addressing old mechanics, user interface, or profession issues.
