In light of the recent garrisons blog post, Mumper gave World of Warcraft battle pet fans a tidbit today for what Warlords of Draenor has in store for our little buddies. A new type of battle-stone will be available for trainers to boost their pets’ levels:

While it’s somewhat disheartening that we won’t be able to play matchmaker with our pets, it’s exciting to see that we won’t be limited to grinding through battles to level them. Previously, battle-stones had been limited to upgrading the quality of captured pets–this offers an alternative play style that anyone going for the numerous battle pet achievements can appreciate.

Warlords of Draenor features a couple other goodies for pet fanatics, as well, not the least of which being a whole new world of pets to conquer. In addition to the new battle-stones, Mumper says other, unspecified battle pet bonuses are lingering on the horizon–which may or may not be linked to the Menagerie garrison plot.
