Five Unique Places to PVP in Pandaria

by - 10 years ago

Pandaria has had its fair share of World PVP attempts. Many of these efforts have been fun while they lasted, and some, like the Timeless Isle, are still quite popular. But if you are like me, you have grown tired of the green saturated Timeless Isle and the countless mobs. Not to mention the betrayal of your own faction might have become less than appealing a few months back. Check out these places for some unique environments, and some great PVP action.

1. Tavern of the Veiled Mists – Tavern of the Veiled mists is nestled between the Jade Forest and Vale of Eternal Bosoms. The scenery is hilly and there are many paths that you can use to travel around this area. Mists cover the small picturesque zone and provide for a real sense of mystery and intrigue. Inside the small cranny is a Pandaren hut, where Wrathion lives inside. He is an integral part to the Legendary quest line. If you consider yourself a PVP hunter, Wrathion is the bait. Many new level 90’s head over to Wrathion in order to turn in parts of the legendary quest, or just to start it. This causes a constant flow of people to come in and out of the building, and they also loiter inside while they talk to Wrathion.  This gives you ample time to strike.

Once you pounce on the unsuspecting player, they might try to run up the stairs in the small house and you have just started a terrific cat and mouse game. If they manage to escape, you can chase them up the paths. If you lose the battle, but are lucky enough to have an engineer’s Goblin Glider, you can glide away from the house because of the slope of the hill.

2. Skyrange – The Skyrange is a mountain range inside the Valley of the Four Winds. It is northeast of the alliance honor vendors. This area is ripe with ghost iron ore, which causes many players to come by and harvest it. If you are a druid, a hunter, or a shaman, this area might just be your favorite spot. A lot of the ghost iron is nestled precariously on the edges, and you can easily blow enemies off into oblivion. If not, this is still a great area with funny monkeys running around to kill while you wait for victims. Since it’s close to the honor vendors, it tends to be a solid world PVP hot spot if you like to see battles escalate. Pick up some ore for yourself if you are there!

3. Island north of Zouchin Village – There is a small island in the northern portion of Kun-Lai Summit where rare lives. This rare has a chance to drop the hardened shell. This shell is a great item to have in world PVP fights where your victim tries to fly away on their flying mount. When you see your victim fall off their mount after they thought they had made a successful get-a-way, you might just stop raiding altogether and seek more victims. Not only is this place great for the item, but people often camp the island waiting for the mobs to respawn. It is a great place to compete with these players as they struggle to get their own hardened shell. There is even a small hut on the island for players to hide and interact in.

4. The Shores of Krasarang Wilds – The southern shores of Krasarang wilds are a popular spot for Zandalari Warbringers. These Warbringers drop decent rewards which makes players farm them obsessively. In this spot, the Zandalari walk along the coast, and are quite visible. These players who farm the rares are usually grouped up in threes or fours, and sometimes even twos. This is a great place to fight players on an equal footing without being overwhelmed by other spectators like in the Timeless isle. It wont draw as big of crowds as the Skyrange might, but this area can provide small scale wars. If you manage to take down the other faction’s players, you might be lucky enough to take down a Warbringer as well and help yourself to a Slate Primordial Direhorn.

5. Vale of Eternal Blossoms – The Vale is filled with rares that drop interesting items. There is Ai-Ran, who can lighten your steps. When players are flying towards their respective shrine, they often stop to take down these rares and nothing is more fun than interrupting these fights. There are also cool places like the Guo-Lai Halls which have treasure chests that cause players to frequent the area.
