Brush Up On Your Crowd Control

crowd control 600

In the PvP game, knowledge is power. Specifically, knowledge of what every class is capable, and particularly of what crowd control abilities, and how many of them, you can expect to face. Once you understand the abilities, you then need to understand which abilities share diminishing returns with which. And that is what seems to be causing some confusion within the community at present.

So much so, that community manager Lore has posted an extensive list of crowd control abilities and which other abilities they share diminishing returns with on the forums, along with a brief description of how the diminishing returns system works.

After you’ve been affected by a crowd control effect in PvP, there’s a 15 second window for diminishing returns. The second effect of the same category (as listed below) that is used on you will only last for 50% of its normal duration, and the 15 second window will be restarted. Should you be affected by a third effect from the same category inside that window, it will only last for 25% of its initial duration. The 15 second window will once again be restarted, and you will be immune to any further effects of that category for the duration.

The list itself is comprehensive and includes abilities from all hunter pets, as well as the different lengths of similar crowd controls that don’t necessarily share diminishing returns. Check out the full post for the list.
